About the Museum
The Ayahuasca Museum is the first and only museum in the world dedicated to the traditional ceremony of the Amazonian shamanic tribes. It was founded in 2021 on the territory of the Cordillera Escalera Ecolodge in the town of Tarapoto which is almost situated at the border of the Cordillera Escalera Conservation Area.
For several years, we have developed the concept, accumulated materials and exhibits, and consulted shamans and experts who study the history and the modern life of the Amazonian tribes. We have also studied the great Amazonian healing practices.
The Museum collection occupies an exhibition area of almost 140 m². It consists of relics from private collections and artefacts purchased from local residents.
The Museum is designed for those interested in the history and culture of Peru and shamanic ceremonies as their integral part.
The Museum was created for educational purposes only. It does not campaign or agitate for participation in Ayahuasca ceremonies.
The goal of The Museum is to provide comprehensive, research-based and evidence-based information about the Ayahuasca ceremony.
